I am an atmospheric scientist with a focus on monsoon circulations and atmospheric temperature variability. I am particularly interested in understanding how the local and remote changes in the Earth's other components (such as land, ocean, and cryosphere) alter the atmospheric condition in regional scales. My research tools include observational analysis, theory, and numerical modeling.

I am currently a postdoctoral scholar at the Institute of the Environment and Sustainability (IoES), UCLA. In collaboration with Professor Karen McKinnon and Dr. Isla Simpson, my current work seeks to understand the role of the land surface in influencing temperature variability. I received my Ph.D. in 2020 from the Department of Geography at the University of California, Berkeley, working with Professor John Chiang. My dissertation was on the dynamical linkage between the seasonal evolution of the East Asian Summer Monsoon and the latitudinal migration of westerlies. Before that, I received my M.Sc in Atmospheric Science from Peking University (advised by Professor Yongyun Hu), and a B.Sc. in Atmospheric Science from Ocean University of China.
